IITAGH /C@deFest// 1.2 – Create Your Own Website

This event is being hosted by the IIT Alumni of Greater Houston in partnership with the Houston Community College Center of Excellence for Digitaland Information Technologies, Excellence for Engineering, and Office of Entrepreneurial Initiatives.

Create your own website from scratch! Students will get hands on experience to develop a website on their laptops and publish live on the web. This is a “hands on” workshop using laptop computers (bring your own laptop!).

Programming is a unifying language across cultures and geographic divides. Technology in general and coding specifically are a critical part of today’s globalized economy. Students will learn the basic concepts of declarative vs procedural languages with JavaScript and HTML used to explain the difference.

No prior coding experience is needed.  Bring your own laptop and charger, notepad/pen to write notes, a USB flash drive to store your work, and an email ID ready to be used.

When:  Saturday, December 5th 2015 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm

Where:  HCC West Loop Campus Auditorium, 5601 West Loop South,  Houston TX 77081

Details:  Registration is open to the public
