Panelist include Dr. Satyam Priyadarshy (Chief Data Scientist, Halliburton), Amit Bhandari (Associate Partner at IBM, Advanced Analytics for Oil and Gas) and Avijit Sinha (Director of Business Development for IoT, Microsoft)

Profile of the Speaker and the Panelists:

AnupSharma

 

Anup Sharma, 20-year GE veteran is the Global CIO for GE’s Oil & Gas. Anup is leading the global information technology through innovative solutions for business growth.  He is enabling zero unplanned downtime for global customers with technology solutions powered by GE’s industrial internet. He serves as the 2016 Houston March for Babies Chairman, is on the Council of Overseers at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School and on the Health Care Policy advisory committee at the Greater Houston Partnership.  He co-leads the Asia Pacific American Forum at GE and is a member of GE’s global diversity council.  Anup received his Bachelors of Science degree in Management Information Systems and Business Management from Huntington University in Indiana and is a graduate of GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP).

 

Amit Bhandari is an Associate Partner at IBM, focused on taking cognitive and advanced analytics solutions to the Oil & Gas industry. Amit is a seasoned executive and a thought leader with 15+ years of comprehensive experience in Upstream E&P industry. During these years Amit has worked with business and IT senior management across a wide array of customers on solving their strategic and operational challenges. Amit is also actively involved with Oil & Gas industry organizations.

Dr. Satyam Priyadarshy is a pioneer in the fields of data science, big data, analytics, and emerging technologies. He is currently chief data scientist at Halliburton’s Landmark PSL, leading expansion of integrated workflow capabilities and other Big Data and Data Science initiatives. He is the 1st Chief Data Scientist of Oil and Gas Industry. Dr. Priyadarshy has appeared as speaker at several international conferences, and has written, co-authored, presented and published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed journals and magazines. He has held various leadership positions in AOL, Network Solutions, Acxiom Corporation prior to joining Halliburton. He was named to The Financial Times’ list of potential board candidates with emerging technology and analytics expertise. Dr. Priyadarshy is an adjunct faculty at Georgetown University.  He is currently senior fellow at the International Cyber Security Center at George Mason University. He is advisory board member at multiple organizations including Big Data Summit, Virginia Tech’s MBA Board, etc.  Dr. Priyadarshy holds a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, and an MBA from Virginia Tech.

Avijit Sinha is the Director of Business Development for the IoT business at Microsoft. His team leads the IoT Business for Microsoft including overall product direction, new business models, ecosystem and pioneer customer engagements. Prior to this, over the last 15 years at Microsoft he led

Product development for Cortana and Office Applications for iOS, Android and Windows.
Product development for Digital Imaging features for Windows.
Worldwide Partner Engagements, Field Readiness, Product Deployment, Solution Integration, Operations and Support for Mobile Subscription Computing products for emerging markets.

Avijit holds several patents for productivity and platform software. Avijit received a Bachelors in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from Seattle University.

 Below are the directions and parking information to the campus located at 6100 Main Street, Houston, TX 77005.

From US 59S: Take the Greenbriar/Shepherd exit and make a left on Greenbriar.  At Rice Boulevard, make a left.  You will start seeing entrance numbers and you want to take a right at Entrance #20.  At the second stop sign, make a right.  You will pass the school (McNair Hall, building #53 on campus map attached).  Look to the left for the central parking garage which is an underground parking garage to our building.  (Or you can choose to park at nearby surface lots).
